Pixar have pioneered in 3d animation and their Luxo junior short was a major step into new animation techniques
John Lasseter was learning how to model at this time and so chose the nearest and eaierst subject around him...his desktop lamp
he animated it, created life and emotion with the animation techniques in this peice that was eventually nominated for an academy award.
here is the full animation itself

Juha is by far one of my favourite photographers of all time, his landscape work is truely incredible and i envy his skills. Juha currently resides in Oulu, Finland. I met Juha via the online art gallery known as DeviantART and have watched his work for over a year now and he has never ceased to amaze me with his skills behind the camera. i often ask Juha for tips and secrets to help me improve my own photography which he graces me with his knowledge frequently. Thanks Juha.

Evaluation: Flash Game
During my first experience using actionscript 2, I found the first instances quite difficult to grasp, but once learning efficiently how to read and understand the code more fully you can then understand where to implement what areas of code and how to structure them. This was much more suited to my taste. I preferred to code rather than to animate due to previous experience in web design. This also was ultimately a very useful experience as i can learn from this brief in order to create a flash based gallery for my upcoming online portfolio.
I kept to the brief quite well using the story “Little Red Riding Hood” as my chosen fairy tale, and developed a series of scenes using different methods of action scripting to create a mini game based on avoiding “landmines” (a bit more modern approach)to escape. I maintained the same atmosphere throughout the game using similar colour palette throughout and similar style vector graphics. These were produced in illustrator.
I believe the strongest aspect of my game is the use of different types of scripting methods, creating randomly generating landmines, rain and scaling objects. It was difficult to get all of the aspects built into the script functioning correctly but what I managed to come up with I was pleased with. After looking around at different examples of actionscript and examining what they meant I was able to apply this to my own work, making the different features of my game.
I could have made my production better by adding some sort of scoring system to my game which allows you to have a certain number of lives or shows how many lives the wolf has before it gets blown up by the landmines. This would have made the game much easier and much more professional. This being said, I struggled to come up with the actionscript to be able to code this into my game. This would have meant i would have been able to add a number more scenes to make this interactive game much more user friendly and more fun to play effectively. I should also have allowed myself more time to think of the ideas and what actionscript would need to be implemented into the game before actually beginning to produce the game therefore reducing pressure on myself and being more time effective.
In conclusion i believe this flash game to be a success as its almost as i planned out an i have learnt a lot from actually making the game which i may be able to put into good use later on in my career/education . the changes i could have made would have improved the game so much more if i had know how to make the changes required to do so. For a first time using actionscript i believe what i did was well done and a very good learning curve and i hope i can harness these skills in the near future for web design purposes.

PPD: typography
for some reason ive fallen in love with typography and have become mesmerised by certain peices of typo which ive studied and pondered for hours if im honest and im still amazed at them no matter how simple.
id like to show a few peices that have been a massive inspiration boost to me oer the past month or so from 2 artists which i have now contacted.

This is by Johnathon Haggard a typographer/designer based in california with such an amazing typographic talent. ive been talking to him recently via msn and deviantART for some tips on how to improve my own skills. he has helped a lot so far.
his deviantart ^
A few more of his work:

Now
my good friend Sander Rietdijk otherwise known as ICDP (iseedeadpixels)ive met ICDP a long time ago through various artgroups im involved with primarily slashTHREE
. he is a dutch based designer of the same age as me and has some incredible work which id like to share with you.
all his rights reserved

these peices inspired me to create a typography piece for myself and without further adue id like to present "All That Once Was Is Now Lost".

amazing work from 2 of my favourite artists
