MOAR MYAKA

Blue Coldesack from myaka on Vimeo.

this is a very very similar idea as to what we would like to acheive with our peice. although visually great , id like to think our project goes beyond sheer experimentation as we delve into emotion based, statistical studies.

shape into space - further study.

a further study into shape ideasinto reality.

inspiration for the final idea: WITOYAWYMTM

such images like these were an influence into how we would like to impliment out work, focusing on the shapes form, control and release. we studies shapes in real space and how we could use that in our own work

FINAL IDEA...

after scrapping everyone of our ideas so far we finally came up with a concept that we could all work with and would work conceptually as well as visually. this idea was to create a online virtual PMOG. this is a space when a user would fill in our questionaire/survey as to what their city would look like based on their own emotions. we asked: (check questionaire for further info :https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGNmbkVOUUhkYTY5Z0huR29iYzBBU1E6MA&ifq

Where do you live?
what shape is your place/city?
What colour is your place/city?
What speed is your place/city?
What sound does your place/city make?

these results would be the basis of the visual aspect of the project. with each submission of the questionaire the individual users emotions are depicted. this then generates the 3d object which will be composited onto real footage. this will be then generated along with other peoples views of the same place.

this would be justified by a website which would host the PMOG, user can access and view different areas via the site. user will have the option to take part in the survey and upload their own peice of their city/place of residence. the compositions will be loaded via a flash based design.

Ideas. story1

another of our first ideas which we discarded was based around paper and oil. we wanted to recreate a city made out of paper either using 3d software or building our own cityscape from paper.

some ispirational videos from vladamir tomin @ slashTHREE.com

both these videos are heavily influenced by paper ideals. i was heavily influenced by the paper aeroplane scene which i really wanted to include in the cityscape peice with the oil

Discarded Ideas...2

a few more inspirational images for the data interpretation idea:

we wanted to recreate the lines of communication in our world map of main cities but show them in a visual and exciting new way.

Discarded ideas...

another idea of ours was to crete a motion peice based on communications within cities, this was one of our more well defined ideas which looked into the breif more conceptually. we would look into how cities interact with each other and try to create a motion peice based on data mapping. this idea ment that we could look at how cities change and communicate but with a great visual look.

heres a few ispirational images we found to develop the ideas we had.

Professional Practice Storyboard idea

here is one of the initial ideas in which we presented to the group during the crit but decided to scrap the idea around a week later.

Professional Practice updates

so over the last few weeks/month or so we have had so many ideas as to what we were going to do...then as usual discarded all ideas to come up with new fresh, unique ideas.

our first series of ideas were generally based on heavy visuals for the onedotzero brief. we wanted to integrate lots of live footage and heavy post work into our ideas. our first ideas were based around how the world and its cities are mutation and evolving around such materials as Oil. we wanted to show a lot of high speed footage of oil dripping and covering cities in a gloopy motion.

we wanted to show cities, being destroyed but after rebuilt. this would show how the cities evolve and mutate as time went by.

we had the whole, man vs nature idea in our heads. we decided to scrap ideas such as this as they seemed to be pretty generic and we wanted to delve more into the conceptual side of the breif, thus integrating the coceptual side but with the visualisations too.
